- Rhode Island men's basketball player Jeff Dowtin has been named the recipient of URI's 2020 Albert LaBoeuf Award. The LaBoeuf Award recognizes the most outstanding graduating male student-athlete who has been a role model in his collegiate career and has maintained good academic standing. - Rhode Island distance runner Katie McNulty has been named the female recipient of URI's 2020 Elizabeth Holmes Award. Voted on by athletic department staff members, the Holmes Award recognizes the most outstanding graduating student-athletes (one male, one female) who have combined exceptional scholastic achievement with outstanding athletic ability. - BankRI -- The operating function of all of our bank branch offices has changed and will operate in a Drive-up Teller environment only for any deposit, withdrawal or teller functions. - Gerbs Allergy Friendly Foods: The Gerbs Allergy Friendly Foods website is live again! Check out the link here and continue to support local businesses!
- Newport Propane: Special precautions being taken include delivery drivers being instructed not to come into our office while limiting contact with others and personal protective gear including masks should they need to enter a customer's home. There are a lot of things to worry about during this pandemic...propane will NOT be one of them.
- Matunuck Oyster Bar: Now accepting reservations online at our website www.rhodyoysters.com up to two weeks in advance. It’s been a long road and we still have a long way to go but we are excited to see our guests. We are currently limited to 20 tables outside dining only, we do have patio heaters but dress for the weather because we cannot use the sidewalls. Don’t forget your mask, we are looking forward to seeing you.
- Mews Tavern: We will reopen inside dining June 1 @ 11am & begin seating our new outdoor area @ 5pm. We’ve taken all safety precautions to ensure a safe visit for our guests & staff and ask that our customers also follow our news posted protocols in order to keep everyone healthy and the Mews open to serve YOU! Above all we ask you please be patient with our staff and each other while we do our best to get new practices in place. Stay calm, enjoy a DRAFT beer & try out something you’ve never had before off the Summer 2020 menu!
- Pizza Gourmet: Our Wood Grilled Pizza Crust, Premium Tomato Sauce and Pizza Kits are available for Home delivery....WE ARE RHODE ISLAND BORN AND RHODE ISLAND BREAD. Please check out the online store and send a package to a fellow Alumnus.
